Nëkasha (Nëka) Schultz (b. 1990)

My first love was making art, and birds were my first muse. I drew them constantly as a kid, long before I understood what they meant to me. The path since has been a migration of studying abroad, loves lost and loves found, and losing myself in what everyone else wanted me to be.

But home was in me all along. Birding and making art led me back to it. As I began creating from the truest part of myself, abstraction became the language I spoke, and with it I felt at home.

Nëka is an intuitive abstract artist working across acrylic, watercolor, ink, clay, and digital media. Their work explores movement, nature, mindfulness, and embodied attention through color, form, texture, and gesture. Sketchbooks are rarely far away.

Their work has been featured at Mycelium Gallery, Plaza Walls Gallery, and Flora Bodega in Oklahoma City’s Paseo Arts District. Nëka is also a certified yoga teacher and enjoys creating spaces where breath, movement, and creativity meet.
